“Oh, The Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite books. It is inspiring with out being over optimistic. Sometimes life is not going to go hoe you plan. The line, “I’m sorry to say so but, sadly, it’s true that Bang-ups and Hang-ups can happen to you,” is one of my favorite lines. Everyone, especially kids, think that bad things that they hear will never happen to them but they can and will. When I have a classroom I will read this book to them at the end of the year. We will talk about how it is their decision what road they go down because, “With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you’re too smart to go down a not-so-good street.”

Wish & Dream
“Wish and dream with all your heart but remember a star can only take you part of the way you have got to help it along with some hard wok of your own and then you can do anything you set your mind to”
The quote above was in the Disney Movie “The Princess and the Frog.” I really like it because I think that many people want good things to just happen to them. We are all guilty of wishing on a star, eye lash, a penny in a fountain or when the clock hits 11:11. As fun as it is to wish for something it is even more fun to work towards a goal and see it come true. This is a good thing to keep in mind when you are doing something that is no fun such as homework and studying. It will all be worth it one day when we graduate and get a job. You can wish on a star but do not leave it at that. Work towards what you wish for.

Integrating Social Studies and Writing
By including writing in all subjects the students are getting several opportunities to practice their writing. One subject that is easy to incorporate writing is social studies. An idea from the aticle is to have, “students write formal essays, creative stories, poetry, songs, and dialogues.” This way they are thinking deeply about what they are learning and they are learning/ practicing several writing skills. The students also can practice reading by reading, “primary sources, secondary sources, historical fiction, and historical non-fiction.” By incorporating social studies and writing it will make writing more enjoyable.

Comments
Having the ability to comment on blogs makes you realize that people are actually reading what you write. This means that you have to be careful about what you post because blogs are so public and just about anyone has the ability to see them. It is also fun to see how pictures, videos, poems, ect. make other people feel and what they liked about them.
Changes
As I was going through several blogs i realized that i rarely read the post but i always look at the pictures. Therefore, I decided to add a lot of pictures to my blog. I added some family pictures one one side and some other random pictures that I liked on the other. Also, when i was looking at other blogs I liked the ones that had backgrounds other then the ones that are given. So, i found a picture i liked but didn't have too much going on to set as my background. I am also working on a playlist to play because I liked the blogs that had music to go along with them.
